The renowned actor Wilbert Francisco Cobbs alias Bill Cobbs who is known for his roles in films such as ‘The Hitter’, ‘The Brother from Another Planet’, ‘Night at the Museum’ and ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ has died. At the time of death, he was 90. 

His family members announced this unfortunate event on social media, disclosing that he died on 25 June (Sunday) at his home in Riverside, California. His publicist Chuck I. Jones said that he was surrounded by his family and friends at that time and called the natural cause to be the cause of death. 

Bill Cobbs Family Members Confirm the Death News 

Confirming Bill’s death news, his brother Thomas G. Cobbs stated on Facebook, “We are saddened to share the passing of Bill Cobbs. On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California. A beloved partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather, and friend, Bill recently and happily celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by cherished loved ones.”

“As a family, we are comforted knowing Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father. We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time”, he added. 

Praising the actor Bill, publicist Jones said, “Bill was a phenomenal human being in addition to being a spectacular actor. He was very kind, giving, and attentive to others.”

Born on June 16, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bill began his acting career in 1974 in the film ‘The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.’ 

Apart from movies, he has also appeared in several television shows including JAG, The Drew Carey Show, Army Wives, One Tree Hill, Star Trek: Enterprise, The Sopranos, Yes, Dear, Go On, The West Wing, The Bay, NYPD Blue, Lost, The Glades, and more. 

In 2020, he made a guest appearance in the two-part series finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In the same year, he also won a Daytime Emmy Award for his incredible performance in a Daytime Program for his role on the kids show ‘Dino Dana.’

In a career span of 50 years, the veteran actor starred in more than 150 films and TV shows. With his exceptional acting prowess and amazing personality, he ruled the world and made a huge fan base.
