The renowned voice artist Nancy MacKenzie who voiced Marge Simpson in the animated sitcom The Simpsons has died. She was 81 years old when she took her last breath. The co-artists Patricia Acevedo and Claudia Motta who voiced Lisa and Bart in the Latin American version of the show announced this unfortunate event on social media. 

Taking the Instagram account, Patricia Acevedo dropped a video and wrote, “It is with deep sadness, the Simpson kids (Lisa and Bart), announce the passing of our beloved mom, Marge Simpson (Nancy MacKenzie). Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.”

With the video, Patricia cherished the beautiful moments that Nancy MacKenzie spent with the other artists. 

Co-stars Pay Tribute to Nancy MacKenzie

After confirming Nancy MacKenzie’s death, various co-stars paid tribute to her by dropping photos and videos with beautiful captions on social media. 

Humberto Vélez, the voice actor behind Homer Simpson wrote, “[We spent] many hours together, working and traveling. A lifetime. Your passing hurts me very much, but I celebrate your love of life, of being free and living life fully. Thank you for always listening to me, for your unconditional support in the union problem that we go through together.”

Vélez also thanked Nnacy and commented, “Thank you for transitioning with me this part of life. You were, are, and will be a fundamental part of the most important labor project of my work.”

“You are many things. You are my wife Marge. Thank you Nancy Makenzie” he added. 

The studio that dubs The Simpsons in Spanish also paid homage to the late artist. The Facebook post reads, “Your voice is and will be part of your legacy.”

Nancy MacKenzie entertained the world with her different roles in movies, TV shows, and cartoons. Her sudden demise is a big loss for the entertainment industry. It shocked the well-known personalities and her fans have also grieved.

The late powerhouse of talent, MacKenzie was born in Peru. In her 20’s, she moved to Mexico and became an actress. In her career span of over five decades, she voiced various popular characters including Diane Keaton, Bette Midler, Judi Dench, and Sigourney Weaver. 

But she rose to fame for her voiceovers in Spanish of animated characters such as Sailor Galaxia from the anime series Sailor Moon, Disney villain Cruella de Vil, and more.
