Fans will soon be treated to the first live-action drama from the Love Live! franchise, with the title Love Live! School Idol Musical the DRAMA. This will begin airing on MBS and other stations in Japan on November 21, 2024. It is the first musical series inspired by the franchise with a completely different story line, not at all inspired by the anime.
The story follows ten girls from two different high schools, namely, Tsubakisakuhana Girls’ High School in Hyogo and Takizakura Girl’s Academy in Osaka. The script for the musical drama will be written by Kouki Kishimoto and directed by Keijiro Tsubakimoto and Hiroto Totsuka.
It was earlier performed in Tokyo and Osaka from December 2022 to January 2024. Here’s a 9 minute 43 second YouTube video glimpse of the performance.
A new show will be held at Nihon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo in February 2025 and at Shinjuku Kabuki-za in Tokyo in April 2025. The musical was a blockbuster, and so the fans are excited to view the live-action drama to experience the same thrill they got from the stage performance.
