Look Back Anime Film Is Ready To Make Headlines At TIFF

The Japanese anime movie Look Back is ready to make headlines at the Tokyo International Film Festival organized from October 28 to November 6, 2024. This was revealed by the film organizers along with the exciting news of Manga creator Fujimoto and director Kiyotaka Oshiyama coming together for a special shikishi. 

Look Back anime is an adaptation of the one-shot by Tatsuki Fujimoto, and is nearing its completion. In this regard, the shikishi became even more relevant as it features Kyomoto, drawn by director Oshiyama, watching Fujino, drawn by Fujimoto, draw manga.

Oshiyama’s contribution also levels up as he directs Look Back at Studio Durian, wrote the script, and provided the character designs. Kiyoshi Sameshima is the art director, with Haruka Nakamura providing the music and Avex Pictures distributing the film, which was released in Japan on June 28, 2024. 

Also, at the TIFF, or Tokyo International Film Festival, it was announced that their anime screening lineup includes Look Back, Naoko Yamada’s The Colors Within, and Kuno/Yamashita’s Ghost Cat Anzu. Fans can also watch other popular animations such as A Few Moments of Cheers, Kurayukaba, the world premiere of Make a Girl, Totto-chan the Movie: The Little Girl at the Window, and the Japanese premiere of The Wild Robot. 

The U.S. release of Look Back is set for October 4 by GKids and a theatrical release in other countries soon. The final release date is not yet announced, but the shikishi is enough to create a buzz among its fans worldwide.
