Japan’s one of the most successful anime movies, KING OF PRISM -Dramatic PRISM.1, will be in theaters in large formats such as 4DX, ULTRA 4DX, and ScreenX. It was a compilation film based on the KING OF PRISM -Shiny Seven Stars, TV series which aired back in 2019. The official website of the film announced the news and the film will premiere on October 25. It will commence screening at 73 theaters all over the nation.
This marks a significant milestone for the anime industry, as it celebrates the debut of a Japanese anime film in ScreenX theaters.
ScreenX is a movie theater technology that projects films onto the side walls of the auditorium to create a 270-degree panoramic viewing experience. It uses multiple projectors on each side of the theater to blend images into one seamless image. Also, it is equipped with diverse special effects such as swaying in all directions, water (mist), scent, and smoke for a real-time experience. While many films and documentaries including foreign movies have been aired in these theaters in Japan, this will be the first time for an anime film.

Furthermore, the advance tickets for all the screen formats will be available soon for sale. Along with this, Movie Ticket Cards are also available for purchase that come with a glowing Prism Watch-style wristband light. This merchandise has already garnered significant success before the release of the movie.
The KING OF PRISM by Pretty Rhythm debuted in January 2016 as a follow-up to the 2013-2014 TV anime Pretty Rhythm: RainbowLive. Its sequel KING OF PRISM: Pride the Hero was followed in June 2017. Then the first feature film in four years from the KING OF PRISM anime franchise was KING OF PRISM -Dramatic PRISM.1 released in Japan on August 16, 2024.
