The trailer of the upcoming superhero horror film, ‘Hellboy: The Crooked Man’ has been released. Based on the Dark Horse Comics character Hellboy, it doesn’t relate to the previous Hellboy movies including ‘Hellboy’ (2004), ‘Hellboy II: The Golden Army’ (2008), and ‘Hellboy Reboot’ (2019).
Additionally, it doesn’t include the renowned actors, Ron Perlman and David Harbour who played the lead in the previous megahits.
This time, the ‘Deadpool 2’ actor Jack Kesy will reprise the iconic character. Apart from him, it features Jefferson White as Tom Ferrel, Hannah Margetson as Cora Fisher, Leah McNamara as Effie Kolb, and Joseph Marcell as Reverend Watts.
This upcoming film’s trailer opens in the hills of Appalachia which is considered haunted and evil by Hellboy. As he is the defender of the world, he has the power to sense the bad vibes around him. Finding the forest mysterious, Hellboy stated, “haunted, evil, and smells like death.” Additionally, he says, “Dark things call to dark things” at another point.
In the other scenes, a frightened girl is shown who is bitten by a snake. It follows the appearance of several dreadful creatures and witches.
The Hong Kong-born actress, Adeline Rudolph plays the role of a rookie agent of the BPRD (the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense) in the film and supports Hellboy in protecting the people of Appalachia from evil spirits.
When the fourth installment of the Hellboy movie franchise was announced, Millennium’s president Jeffrey Greenstein stated,
“The Crooked Man is a departure from all previous Hellboy films where Mike Mignola and the creator of the comics will finally shepherd an authentic version of his stories and characters in film form.”
He added, “This is the first in the series of films that will captivate audiences in familiar (and new) ways. Brian Taylor is an expert across the board, and I couldn’t think of a better person to bring this story to life to show our audience this different and original Hellboy slate of films.”
After the release of the trailer, his statements turn out to be true. The disturbing creepy figures, the terrifying sounds, and the horror vibes that the Crooked Man gives out add a thrilling effect to the film and make it stand out among the previous installments.
