Butterfly Singer, Shifty Shellshock Dies at 49 – Death Cause is Not Known Yet

The renowned vocalist Seth Brooks Binzer alias Shifty Shellshock who is known for co-founding the rap rock band Crazy Town has died. He took his last breath at the age of 49. 

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report, the ‘Butterfly’ singer died at his residence on Monday. The cause of his death is not known yet. 

In 1992, Shifty Shellshock collaborated with Crazy Town frontman, Bret Mazur and began the music career under the name ‘The Brimstone Sluggers.’ The group name was changed to ‘Crazy Town’ in 1999. In the same year, their first debut film titled ‘The Gift of Game’ was released. 

After one year of its release, the popular song ‘Butterfly’ hit the music charts and ranked No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for two non-consecutive weeks. Apart from the US, it also topped the song charts of seven other countries including Denmark, Norway, Austria, and more. 

Another album ‘Dark Horse’ was released in 2002. Unfortunately, it failed to win the hearts of the audience, resulting in the band breaking up. 

After that, Shellshock collaborated with the producer and musician Paul Oakenfold and contributed to the song ‘Starry Eyed Surprise’. The song ranked at No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart.

The artist was born in Los Angeles in 1974 in the house of Rollin Binzer and Leslie Brooks. At the time of his birth, his father worked as an artist and director while his mother worked as a model and script proofreader. 

In 2002, Shifty tied the knot with Melissa Clark but their relationship didn’t last long and the duo parted ways in 2011. The couple had a son named Halo. In 2008, he also dated a gorgeous lady named Tracy with whom he shared his second son Gage. 

In 2010, he came into a relationship with the model and actress, Jasmine Lennard. But within a few months, they got separated.
