I grew up watching and reading about Spider-Man, he is one of my top 5 Marvel characters. Throughout the year there have been several movies featuring different plots, characters, and overall dynamics. But one thing that remains constant is our hero Spidey!
You might be wondering what are the best Spider-Man movies, right? There are 10 movies in total, with the last being released in 2024. One of my all-time favorite quotes that I might remember my whole life was said in Spider-Man 3 it said: “We always have a choice, and we can always choose to do what’s right.”
This quote is probably the reason why I haven’t become a villain so far. But who knows what might happen in the future. Fans are wondering if they’ll be getting another Spider-Man movie or not but so far no clue.
But we have 10 movies? We can pick the best ones out and rewatch them again until we get something new. And if you are new and never watched any Spider-Man movies, this is your sign to watch them all.
So, in this article, I’ll be mentioning some of the best Spider-Man movies that you need to check out. And look, opinions can be different, so don’t come for me. Just keep reading it and let me know what your favorite Spider-Man movie is.
Into the Spider-Verse took us all by storm by crushing all sorts of mainstream thinking that animated movies can only do so much. With this one, Marvel used incredible talent and art to blend stellar storytelling with all the Spidey action we have come to love.
All this on top of a Spider-Man that isn’t a Peter Parker!
No sir! Into the Spider-verse introduces Mr. Miles Morales, a Brooklyn-based black teenager who is bitten by a radioactive spider and witnesses the death of his world’s Peter Parker at the hands of the nefarious Wilson Fisk.
Prepared to be amazed by an African American with a sprinkle of Mexican Spider-Man who wears a black and red suit and has his fun version of dishing out justice.
Just as visually dazzling and emotionally gripping as its predecessor, Across the Spider-Verse takes us on a journey through the Spider-verse, visiting all sorts of versions of the web-slinger and unraveling discoveries along the way.
The twist in the tale in this one is the introduction of the Supreme Leader Spider-Man 2099 portrayed by the wonderful Oscar Isaac. Miles has been on a journey of self-discovery when one day Gwen introduces him to the multiverse and Spidey 2099 who abruptly tells him that he isn’t allowed to be a part of the Spidey Society.
Spider-Man has always been a fan favorite, just take a look at the graph below:
There’s a lot to take in with this one, and we wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise(s) so go ahead and give this movie a watch by yourself when you can. We’d recommend streaming it on Netflix, where it is currently available.
If you don’t have an internet service to help you check it out in glorious HD, then consider hooking up with Spectrum Internet. Spidey adventures deserve to be watched at max settings. We know we wouldn’t have it any other way.
When Peter Parker’s identity is revealed as Spider-Man, he starts living a very diverse life, with everyone addressing him with their take on the superhero. This becomes quite overwhelming for him eventually, and he enlists the help of the Sorcerer Supreme, Dr. Strange, to help him untangle all this mess.
What seems to be a simple job ends up being an even bigger catastrophe, as Strange and Spidey unleashes multiverse villains from movies past into this version of Spider-Man’s world.
Longtime fans are treated to seeing the OG Green Goblin, Dock Ock from the Sam Raimi films as well as Electro, Sandman, and Lizard. The sheer nostalgia riding on this film for 90s babies is unmatchable.
A nimble sequel to the first movie that massively improves upon Spider-Man and his quirks, Spidey 2 is the film that introduces Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus. What starts as a promising partnership between two big-brained nerds; Peter Parker and Dr. Octavious, ends up as a failed nuclear fusion experiment that kills Otto’s wife and throws him into a spiral of self-doubt.
Eventually making his brain go kaput. Watch this if you want a trip down memory lane, and experience a rivalry that is sprinkled with drama, slapstick comedy, and good old Tobey as our original Spider-Man.
FUN FACT!
Spider-Man is over 62 years old for the first time, being released in 1962
This was the first Spider-Man movie I ever watched, and it is considered to be the first-ever Spider-Man movie. Starring Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, and Cliff Robertson. This movie follows the original plot.
I will try to summarize the plot in just a few sentences: Peter Parker, a teenager, gets bitten by a radioactive spider resulting in him getting all the spider traits after the tragic death of his uncle he starts fighting criminals to make New York a safe city.
The movie also shows a love triangle between Peter, Harry, and Mary Jane. The villain of the movie is Norman Osborn, aka Green Goblin. To this day Spider-Man 2002 is considered one of the best superhero movies to be ever made and that’s obvious because it has everything critics look for. This should be on your watch list
That’s about it for our top picks when it comes to Spider-Man movies. Admittedly, there are many Spider-Man movies out there, but if we ever sat down to spew out our top four? This would be it. Give them a watch and let your head and mind be enthralled with the adventures of Spidey.
