Compilation Film “Attack On Titan: THE LAST ATTACK” Remains A Box Office Titan

According to Kogyo Tsushinsha, ‘Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK’, the compilation film featuring the two-part Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS anime episodes premiered at number one last weekend. Continuing the craze among views, it bought 179 million yen (1.16 million USD) with the sales of 125,000 tickets. This places the film in second place in its second weekend at the Japanese box office. 

The total earnings of the film have now reached 500 million yen which is 3.24 million USD from selling 380,000 tickets. It surpassed the total revenue of the first compilation film of the franchise, Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow in 2014 which according to Kinema Junpo’s yearly box report made 400 million yen (2.6 million USD).

Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK is all set to conclude its three-week limited theatrical showing in Japan on 28th November 2024. 

As a celebration of to film doing great at the box office, the official X account of the anime franchise is broadcasting a video where fans can see the main voice cast, Yuki Kaji, Marina Inoue, and Yui Ishikawa together with director Yuichiro Hayashi. 

The live-action adaptation of Yui Tamura’s Yano-kun no Futsu no Hibi (Mr. Yano’s Ordinary Days) made its debut in fifth place. It screened in 339 theatres all across Japan and placed seventh in Filmark’s first-day satisfaction ranking; based on 159 reviews, it got an average score of 3.53/5.0. 

The top 10 Weekend box offices in Japan (15th November to 17th November) included Muroi Shinji: Ikitsuzukerumono (Rank 1), Gladiator II (Rank 3), Venom: The Last Dance (Rank 4), BE: the ONE MEANT TO BE (Rank 6), Muroi Shinji: Yaburezarumono (Rank 7), SHOGUN: Episode 1& 2 (Rank 8), Red One (Rank 9) and Stolen Identity Final Chapter: Final Hacking Game (Rank 10).
